Russian mobile operators and internet services hit by major outage.
Multiple Russian mobile operators and internet services experienced a major outage on Friday morning, according to monitoring sites Sboi.rf, Downradar, and Downdetector. The disruption was also reported by Russia’s telecommunications regulator, Roskomnadzor, and the country’s Main Radio Frequency Center.
Russian users reported issues with services from operators including MegaFon, MTS, Yota, T2 (formerly Tele2), and Beeline. The outage also affected services like Rostelecom, Telegram, Viber, Steam, Twitch, and the VTB and T-Bank banking apps. The cause of the disruption is unclear.
T2’s press service told Kommersant that the company had not observed any issues with mobile service availability. MTS declined to comment.
